Question
Chapter 26, Problem 3AAATB
Summary Introduction
To write:
About the apical dominance for the plant to have their correct form and the reason for maintaining its bushy form.
Introduction:
The hormone known as auxin, triggers cells to expand and also causes plants to increase in size. Auxin causes expansion of cells in a stem but prevent the development of lateral buds alongside the stem. Thus, auxin causes apical dominance. Auxin is released at the tip of shoot strongly and prevents branching right down the tip. Auxin-mediated apical dominance is liable to take the shape of the “Christmas tree”, i.e., young conifers shape.
