The blood glucose level is regulated by two hormones namely insulin and glucagon. One hormone increases the blood glucose level and the other one decreases the blood glucose level. Insulin is responsible for decreasing the blood glucose level and glucagon hormone is responsible for increasing the blood glucose level. Increment in the blood glucose level leads to diabetes and decrement in the blood glucose level can take a person to coma.
