Answer to Problem 23SSC

The interplay of induced electric and magnetic fields contributes to electromagnetic wave propagation

Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

Electromagnetic waves are also known as which are generated when an electric field comes into contact with the magnetic field. Electromagnetic waves can also be said to be the composition of oscillating electric and magnetic fields. Electromagnetic waves are solutions of Maxwell's equations, which are the fundamental electrodynamics equations.

Electromagnetic waves are waves that can pass into the outer space vacuum. Unlike electromagnetic waves, mechanical waves involve the presence of a material media to move their energy from one place to another. To know how the EM waves is propagating through the space, it is better to consider the working of an antenna while transmitting an electromagnetic wave into space.

Changing electric fields causes magnetic fields, and electric fields are generated by shifting magnetic fields. The interplay of induced electric and magnetic fields contributes to electromagnetic wave propagation.

Conclusion:

Hence, the interplay of induced electric and magnetic fields contributes to electromagnetic wave propagation
