Introduction:
Triglycerides are the storage form of lipids, which comes from the dietary sources. It is stored in adipose tissues; when the blood glucose concentration is low in the blood, the triglycerides are used as the source of energy. Lipids are synthesized from carbohydrates, where the glycerol is released by the glycolytic pathway. Lipolysis is the process of breakdown of fats that occurs in the mitochondrial matrix.
