Chapter 26.4, Problem 4MC
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The role of ATP, motor neurons, and calcium ions in muscle contraction.
Introduction:
Skeletal muscle tissue is made up of a large number of individual muscle fibers or myocytes (muscle cells). Myofilaments are arranged parallel in the sarcoplasm and they run along the entire length of the muscle fiber. They are composed of two types of proteins, called actin and myosin.
