Comment on the claim that increased temperatures will make planktonic algae grow faster and that carbon dioxide (CO2) will be removed from the atmosphere faster. This carbon will be further buried at the bottom of the ocean in calcium carbonate shells. Consequently, the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere will decrease and declining global warming. Hence, one should not worry about the rising temperatures associated with global climate change.
Introduction:
The planktonic algae are dependent on the light and nutrient availability for its growth. The process of a seedling can be employed to increase the production of plankton in the ocean, which can increase the uptake of CO2 (carbon dioxide) in water bodies.
