Introduction:

The cellular fluids regulate their pH by three buffering systems namely the phosphate buffer system, the protein buffer system and the carbonic acid-bicarbonate buffer system. The carbonic acid is obtained by the reaction between the carbon dioxide molecule and the water molecule.
