To determine:
The keystone species
Introduction:
Keystone species can also be defined as the “plant and animal species” that plays an important role in the functioning and regulation of the ecosystem.
To determine:
The way through which the keystone species can be identified within a community.
Introduction:
A keystone species is less abundant; however, they play an important role in the functioning of a community. They play a “significant and unique role” by their activities and influence the community that is not related or proportional to their numbers. “Woodpecker” is an example of a keystone species having a pivotal role in the community.
