Explanation of Solution

Out of all the sperms that are introduced in the vagina, only 1% of them reach the cervix and only about 0.001% reach the secondary oocyte. The secondary oocyte is present near the ovary in the fallopian tube. It is away from the uterus and closer to the ovary. The sperm swims from vagina through the cervical canal by whip-like movement and reaches the uterine tube by the contraction process. Once the ovulation takes place and the secondary oocyte is released, it is ready for fertilization. The secondary oocyte is viable for 24 hours and if a sperm is present in the uterine tube fertilization take place and the fertilized egg moves through fallopian tube to uterus for implantation.

Conclusion

Thus, fertilization is the process that occurs in the end of fallopian tube near ovary and after fertilization the fertilized egg moves to the uterus for implantation.
