Explanation of Solution

Investigation of cost of dumb terminals:

• A dumb terminal is also a monitor that has a small processing unit and features.
• The programs cannot run on these devices but it sends the user inputs to a computer that runs the required programs and it sends the outputs to the terminal for display.
• It is used in 1970‑1980s because the cost of the computer is high at that time. Hence, the organization uses less number of computers.
• However, they have used the dumb terminal for allowing the users to access the computers efficiently.

• A network computer is a personal computer, which is designed for a centrally-managed network.
• It depends on network servers for the processing unit and data storage.
