Chapter 3, Problem 20RQ
Summary Introduction

To sketch: A map of cell structure with functions of its important components.

Introduction: Cell is the fundamental unit of life. Every part of the human body is made up of cells. A single cell can perform all the functions required for the maintenance of life. Humans have more than 200 types of cells which follow the division of labor that is they have their own specific functions.

Describe the phase of life cycle of a cell that is actively manufacturing enough organelles to serve two functional cells.
Choose TWO of the cell structures from the list provided. Explain the general appearance of each briefly and the specific function in the cell.   Choose from:  Nucleus, Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum, Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum, Lysosomes, Golgi apparatus, mitochondria
A cell that is missing this structure would not be able to transport mRNA or ribosome subunits out of the nucleus. Name the cell structure AND explain why. Then state which type of cell(s) have this structure.
