Compounds that would least dissolve in water has to be chosen from the three options.
Concept Introduction:
Ionic compounds are generally soluble in water. Ionic compounds formed from Group 1 alkali metals are readily soluble in water. Hydration energy is the energy that is released when one mole of ions in gaseous phase combine with water to form hydrated ions.
If the hydration energy is higher, then the compound will be more soluble in water. Solubility of alkali metal halides (fluorides) increases down the group because of the increase in lattice energy.
