Introduction
The human ear is shaped specifically capture vibrations in the air and transmit them to the brain where they are perceived as sound. However, not all sounds are the same. The ear is especially tuned to capture frequencies, or vibrations, within a particular range. These vibrations are measured in a unit called hertz (Hz). Slower vibrations result in lower pitched sounds and lower hertz measurements. Conversely, faster vibrations have higher hertz measurements and higher pitched sounds.
