Chapter 30.6, Problem 1CR
Summary Introduction
The human infectious diseases are mostly caused by viruses and they are considered as the most prevalent and hard to treat. This is because, viruses remain contagious for a longer period of time in desiccated mucus or on fomites. They need a host cell for reproduction. Therefore, destruction of the virus literally means destruction of the host cell as well. There is a wide range of airborne viral diseases such as measles, mumps, chicken pox, and rubella.
