This is the most important adaptation in the terrestrial life to complete their life cycles on land habitat. The amniotic egg mainly contains an amnion. Amnion is a membrane that forms an embryonic sac around the embryo. The terrestrial vertebrates are known as amniotes due to the presence of amnion around the embryo.
