Concept introduction:
The burning of any compound in the presence of oxygen is called combustion. The combustion reaction of a hydrocarbon results in carbon dioxide and water.
To write the balanced chemical equation, write an unbalanced equation, which represents the combination of reactants and the formation of products.
In a balanced chemical equation, the number of atoms of each element present on the reactant side is equal to the number of atoms on the product side.
