Chapter 35, Problem 1SA
What are the basic components of a belt alternator starter hybrid system?
Expert Solution & Answer
To determine
The main components of a belt alternator starter hybrid system.
Explanation of Solution
The belt alternator starter system (BAS) is a commonly used hybrid vehicle system. This system replaced the starter and generator from the commercial vehicle. Instead of this, it uses a motor/generator assembly, an electronic control and a 42-volt battery. With these components it helps to start the engine quickly.
