Chapter 3.6, Problem 28SC
Explanation of Solution
Boundary test case:
- For the
algorithm in How To 5.1, the boundary test case is $128. - The price for purchasing computer accessories is compared with the price of $128.

Explanation of Solution
Expected output:
- The price for purchasing computer accessories is compared with the price of “$128”.
- If the price of computer accessory is less than “$128”, then the lower discount should applies on the price, which means it provides “8” percent discount.

Hello, i need help with understanding Big-O.
What is the execution time Big-O for each of the methods in the Queue-1.java interface for the ArrayQueue-1.java and CircularArrayQueue-1.java implementations?
Short Big-O reminders:
Big-O is a measure of the worst case performance (in this case execution time).
O(1) is constant time (simple assignment statements)
O(n) is a loop that iterates over all of the elements.
O(n2) is one loop nested in another loop, each of which iterates over all the elements.
If a method calls another method, what happens in the called method must be taken into consideration.
Queue.java
public interface Queue<E> { /** * The element enters the queue at the rear. */ public void enter(E element);
/** * The front element leaves the queue and is returned. * @throws java.util.NoSuchElementException if queue is empty. */ public E leave();
/** * Returns True if the queue is empty. */ public boolean…
Consider a method that splits the list into two sublists of sizes n 1 and 1, respectively, with little effort but a lot of work in recombining the sublists. Also take into account the method that spends a lot of time splitting the list into two sublists of size n 1 and size 1, but very little time recombining the sublists. These two programmes, what are they? explain
Modify the ArrayDeque implementation so that it does not require the modulus (%) operator. The
modulus operator is "expensive" on some systems. Instead, the implementation should make use
of the fact that if a.length is a power of 2, then k % a.length = k & (a.length - 1). Here, & is the
bitwise and operator. (p 61) Open Data Structures in Java, section 2.7

- Hi, would you be able to assist me with problem in java code. ......Four new students have arrived at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The students will join one of the four houses, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. The sorting hat has gone missing so in the meantime students will provide a list of the houses they wish to join and the Houses will rank the students in the order they wish to choose. You have been tasked with creating a program to determine a stable match between the students and Houses. The students will get to select their house of choice one at a time. If a student selects a house that is already chosen but rates higher on the list for that house, they are paired to that house and the student who is now un paired will need to select a new house form their ranked list. The program will need each student's name and list of house preferences. Additionally, it will need each house’s name and ranked list of students. - This question got me really confused, could anyone please help me with it? Thank youarrow_forwardWrite a java method to search for an element in an array using a linear search. Many list processing tasks, including searching, can be done recursively. The base case typically involves doing something with a limited number of elements in the list (say the first element), then the recursive step involves doing the task on the rest of the list. Think about how linear search can be viewed recursively; if you are looking for an item in a list starting at index i:o ¬If i exceeds the last index in the list, the item is not found (return -1).o ¬If the item is at list[i], return i.o ¬If the is not at list[i], do a linear search starting at index i+1arrow_forwardRead the tasks very carefully and draw the scenario before you go for code. You are given a singly linked list and an array containing integers. Write a JAVA/Python method where you have to create Nodes with the odd numbers from the array and add them in the list in the positions defined by their indices. Be careful about wrong indices. You might have a linked list of size 4 and you might find an odd number in the array at index 10. Do not consider wrong indices. Look at the following diagram for clear understanding. Assume countNode() method is given. You are not allowed to use any other built in methods.arrow_forward

Resizing is the process of increasing a hash table's size when too many items have been added, reducing the hash table's effectiveness. To resize the hash table, increase the size of the table by some small factor (not less than 2x), remove everything from the old table, and insert it into the new larger table. Make sure to free up memory that is no longer used after resizing. Use the following heuristics to resize the table: • When the load factor exceeds .5. If no entry is found within the probe distance. Note, you may need to change insert as well to have a fully working solution.arrow_forwardSort edgeList in non-decreasing order based on the weights of each edge.
