Introduction:
A synapse is a specialized junction at which neural cell interacts with a target cell. Synapses are the structure that allows a neuron to pass an electric or chemical signal to another targeted neuron. A neuron releases a chemical transmitter that diffuses across the small gap and activates some special receptor on the target cell.
