Explanation The laser is a device which generates coherent monochromatic beam of light by stimulated emission of photons from the excited atoms or molecules. The Ne atom in this energy level further decays to energy level E 2 by stimulated emission whose photon emission energy is E = 1.96 eV as shown in figure 1.
