The speed of the motor is controlled by changing the applied voltage instead of changing the voltage of AC induction motor.

For an AC induction motor, the stator of the motor or magnetic field rotates at the synchronous speed. So, on varying the voltage of the motor, only the rotor speed changes and stator is continuously running with synchronous speed.

Thus, the synchronous speed does not change on changing the voltage of AC induction motor.
