To determine:
The ways in which the white rhinos can be used to increase the reproduction of Javan and Sumatran rhinos.
Introduction:
Rhinoceros is an endangered species and belongs to the family Rhinocerotidae. They are native to Africa and Southern Asia. They are the largest herbivores present on the Earth. There are known predators for rhinos and they are either killed by humans for their horns. Javan rhinoceros is the world’s largest endangered mammals in the world. Whereas, the Sumatran rhinoceros is the smallest endangered rhinoceros.
To determine:
The advantages and challenges/obstacles in the artificial insemination.
Introduction:
Artificial insemination is the intentional introduction of sperm into a female’s reproductive tract in order to achieve a pregnancy through in vivo fertilization.

- mutations. on PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)arrow_forwardHelp please? The Topic is sexual reproduction and its physiology. Scenario: During the ovarian cycle, estrogen secretion by the dominant follicle eventually gets so high that it triggers the hypothalamus to produce and secrete even more gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). This release of GnRH into the anterior pituitary typically causes the anterior pituitary to release a large amount of luteinizing hormone and a much smaller amount of follicle-stimulating hormone. However, Tiffany K. produces a ton of follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone during the end of her follicular phase. She had a bad experience with medical doctors in the past, and so she her medical doctor to figure out what is going on. She asks you if you had any suggestions about what hormone the doctor should test first. You tell Tiffany it would make sense for the doctors to first check her levels of...(see image)arrow_forwardTPSA1. Why is there a need to test the TPSA among male patients?2. How is FPSA different from TPSA?3. How can one use the TPSA and FPSA results to differentiate prostatichyperplasia and metastatic prostate CA?arrow_forward
- Why sex? The comparison of parthenogenic species with sexually reproducing species demonstrates a fundamental "cost of sex" for those sexually reproducing. Despite the significant cost, how is it that sexual production is so common. Defend your evidence with the answer?arrow_forwardestion In polycystic ovarian syndrome, androgens can be produced in excess. What effects would this potentially have? - Parthenogenesis isa. the process by which the germ layers form.b. involved in the formation of the notochord.c. the formation of sperm.d. the development of an unfertilized egg.arrow_forwardanswer exhaustively. Why is it important for the sperm in internally fertilizing animals to undergo acrosome reaction at the right time?arrow_forwardWhat's More Activity 2.1 Concept Map Directions: Fill in the concept map of the important events in sequence during the menstrual cycle by writing the numbers in the box. 1. The egg moves through the oviduct and enters the uterus. 2. The ovary releases an egg on day 14. 3. The pituitary releases hormones that cause the egg in the ovary to mature. 4. The cells of the thickened uterus break off and leave the vagina. 5. The egg has not been fertilized; therefore, it will not attach to the uterus. 6. The ovary itself releases a hormone called estrogen, which causes the uterus to become thicker.arrow_forward
- Disorder of Sex Determination Now that you have reviewed typical sexual determination in humans, it is time to review some case studies of patients that present with sex determination disorders. Using the symptoms presented, research online to determine the nature of the disorder, its mechanism (what causes the disorder) and also any complications and treatment options that may exist. Case 1 A 16-year old patient presents with the following symptoms: Presents as normal external female Did not develop breasts at puberty Did not proceed through menarche (first menstrual cycle) Genetic karyotyping revealed XY Gonadal 'streaks' found upon internal examination Diagnosis Mechanism Possible Complications and Recommendationsarrow_forwardSOME EVENTS IN THE PROCESS OF FERTILIZATION 1. A single sperm nucleus and an egg nucleus fuse to form a zygote. 2. Many sperm cells travel a path through the outer layer of the egg cell. 3. The egg's plasma membrane is penetrated by a sperm cell. 4. A rapid depolarization of the egg plasma membrane occurs. The correct sequence to complete the fertilization of the egg is , , andarrow_forwardTRUE OR FALSE. Prolonged estrogen stimulation promotes a release of the anterior pituitary hormone responsible for stimulation ovulation. This is an example of a negative feedback.arrow_forward
