Chapter 45.5, Problem 1CYL
Summary Introduction
To describe:
How flower structures and their specific animal pollinators facilitate efficient pollination.
Introduction:
Pollination is the process of transfer of pollen grains (male gametophyte) from anther of the stamen to stigma of the carpel. Pollination is of two types; self-pollination and cross-pollination. The ability of a flower to reproduce with other flowers of the same species is termed as cross-pollination. Cross-pollination occurs when pollinators transfer pollen from one flower to other. Pollination is required in plants for fertilization to take place.
