Chapter 46, Problem 3FIB
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Plant hormones coordinate the development and ripening of fruits and seeds. Plant hormones are the chemicals secreted by specific cells and transported via xylem and phloem to other parts of the plants. Each plant hormone has a specific effect and target tissue. Auxins and gibberellins are responsible for the ripening of fruits and seeds. Ethylene is important for senescence in plants and stimulates the formation of abscission layer. The growth of the plant is mediated by the plant hormones.
