Introduction: The term “r” represents the growth rate that is the rate of increase and decrease of the population on the basis of per capita. The growth rate (r) is given as “r = b–d”. Here “b” represents the birth rate, and “d” represents the death rate. The growth of population also depends on the dispersal rate of individuals from one population to another. The individuals that leave a particular population are known as emigrants, while individuals that join a new population are known as immigrants.
