Burns are caused due to accidents and are the leading cause of deaths. They can be caused due to UV radiation, kitchen spills, fires, or excessively hot bathwater. They are also the result of strong acids and bases, and electrical shocks. If a person dies due to burning, then it is due to excess fluid loss, infection, and toxicity caused by eschar, a burned dead tissue.
