Expert Solution & Answer
Chapter 6, Problem 1TC
Explanation of Solution
Given: Serial Advanced Technology Attachment.
To find: The method which should be followed if the user accesses the UEFI/BIOS setup after installation of the SATA hard drive but is unable to detect the drive.
Solution:
If the SATA hard drive does not recognize the system, then check if the BIOS/UEFI setup auto-
detection mode is on. The auto-detection mode helps in detecting the hard drive automatically
when the system is switched on.
Hence, option (c) is correct.

Assume that someone forgets to connect the cables from the casing to the front panel header when installing a motherboard. Are they going to be able to re-energize the system? What are your reasons for or against?
What happens if I disconnect and remove the data cable from the master hard drive and then turn on the computer?
However, you do not have access to the motherboard documentation and hence cannot increase the memory in your system. The board has four DIMM slots, three of which are yellow and one which is black. When you open the case, you discover that three of the DIMM slots are yellow and one is black. What sort of DIMM is most likely to be used by the board? What makes you think you're in the clear?
