Introduction:

An intramuscular injection is a technique used for delivering a medication/substance deep into the muscles. Muscle tissue has a large blood supply than the tissue present beneath the skin and can hold large volume of medication than subcutaneous tissue. A large number of blood vessels are found in muscle as compared to subcutaneous tissue; thus, the rate of absorption at this site is faster than the subcutaneous injections.
