Initially, 0.269 g of C2H6 is mixed. So, the mass of oxygen that would be reacted can be calculated as follows.

Mass of O2=0.260 g  C2H6 ×mol C2H630.07 g of C2H6×mol O22 mol C2H6×32.00 g O2mol O2 =0.968 g O2

1.00 g O2 is initially mixed during the reaction, but the reaction only consumes 0.968 g O2 . Thus, C2H6 is a limiting reactant.

Similarly, the amount of carbon dioxide is calculated with the help of the limiting reactant, C2H6 is as follows.
