To determine

To state whether the line will be a perpendicular bisector of the segment.

Expert Solution & Answer
Check Mark

Answer to Problem 13PSB

The line will not always be a perpendicular bisector of the segment.

Explanation of Solution

Given information:

Two points are equidistant from the end points of the segment.

We use concept of coplanar points. Coplanar points are points which lie in a same plane. If the points are in space and not in a plane, the line joining them may not even go through the segment. If there are two points equidistant from end points of the segment then the line will be perpendicular bisector of the segment. The line will be once perpendicular bisector of the segment but not always.
