Calculation:

The given information is that “when two heterozygous plants are crossed then the plants offspring will have probability 0.75 of having yellow seeds and 0.25 of having green seeds”. The number of offspring produced is 100.

Normal approximation to the Binomial:

If np10 and n(1p)10 where n is the number of trials and p is the success probability then the binomial random variable X follows approximately normal distribution with mean μX=np and standard deviation σX=np(1p).

Let X represents the number of offspring produced by plants. Therefore, the probability that more than 30 have green seed represents P(X>30).

From the given information, it can be observed that the sample size n is 100 and the success probability of yellow seeds is 0.75 and success probability of green seeds is 0.25.

Requirement check for green seeds:

Condition 1: np10

Condition 2: n(1p)10
