Explanation of Solution

Method:

A collection of statements which are formed together to perform an operation is called as method.

Defining a method:

Method definition gives the description of what the method should perform; Method definition holds the modifier, return type, name of the method, the list of parameters and the body of the method.

Syntax for defining a method:

modifier return_type methodName(list of parameters)

{

}

Example:

public int findArea(int x, int y)

{

//body

}
