Few possible impacts of Massive Open Online Courses on traditional higher education:

Reduced tuition/course costs for students:

After the introduction of MOOCs, students did not suffer the problem of paying huge amounts to the higher education schools and colleges. Students can pay less and learn more now.

Increased number of students able to take courses, partially in rural areas:

Because of MOOCs, students from all over India including all the rural areas can access it and pursue the courses easily anytime and anywhere.

Increased competition for some courses:

With the introduction of MOOCs, students got the opportunity to pursue the course they are interested in which made many students to go for the same course and this increased the competition for the courses...
