Viruses are obligate intracellular parasites that require host cells to replicate and multiply. Upon multiplication, they destroy the host cell and infect new host cells. However, they are extremely selective for their target host cells.

Introduction:
Influenza virus is characterized by presence of hemagglutinin (H) spikes and neuraminidase (N) spikes on its surface. These two proteins are responsible for adsorption of the virus on the host cell and facilitation of RNA insertion inside it, respectively.
