Chapter 7, Problem 12PE
Program Plan Intro
Prime Number Generation
Program plan:
- • Declare a function named “checkPrime()” that accepts an input number.
- ○ Use a “for” loop to check whether the passed number has any factor in the range from “2” to “mynum-1”.
- ○ Inside the “for” loop, use “if” statement to check whether the passed number is divisible by the current loop variable.
- ○ If the condition is true, then print the message “The number is not a prime number” along with the passed number and exit the loop.
- ○ If the passed number does not have factors in the range of integers from “2” to “mynum-1”, then print the message “The number is a prime number” along with the passed number.
- • In the “main()” function, perform the following steps:
- ○ Get a number from the user and store it in a variable “howMany”.
- ○ Now, create a list of integers from “2” to “howMany” using the built-in functions “list()” and “range()”.
- ○ Using a “for” loop, call the function “checkPrime()” to check whether the current element in the list is a prime number.
- • Finally, call the function “main()” to execute the program.

Lab Goal : This lab was designed to teach you more about list processing and algorithms.Lab Description : Write a program that will search a list to find the first odd number. If an odd number is found, then find the first even number following the odd number. Return the distance between the first odd number and the LAST even number. Return -1 if no odd numbers are found or there are no even numbers following an odd number
Topics: User-defined functions, list, string, docstringProblem Statement: This program finds the unique letters from a given string and printsthe unique letters and their count. For example: word ‘LITTLE’ has ‘L’, ‘I’, ‘T’, ‘E’ are theunique letters.Lab Scenario:The program repeats until hits ‘n’. The program takes a user input of a string. The programfinds the unique letters in the string, add them in a list and displays the list and their count.Consider the following important points:1) You need to design a user-defined function named count_unique_letters whichtakes user word as parameter and returns the list of unique letters calledunique_letters in the given word.a. Hint: Iterate over each letter in user word, check if the letter is in the list, if notadd it to the list, otherwise continue to the next letter. A ‘in’ keyword can helpto determine if a character in the unique_letters list.b. You need to write a simple docstring for this function.2) Your program must have a main()…
Debug the program debug_me.py. The program should test each of the users in the provided list.
· If the list is empty, it should print “There are no users.”
· If the user is “Admin,” the program should print “Hello all powerful one.”
· Otherwise, for normal users, it should print “You are a normal user.” Test the program with an empty list to confirm correct operation for that case.

- Largest Value. Create a program that uses a list to store input values, and outputs the largest value entered at its location in the list. The program shall accept input values until the user enters -1. And Next Movie Time. Create a program that shows the user when the next showing for a movie is. The program first reads the different showing times (only hours) in a 24-hour clock format (that is, 1PM is 13, 6PM is 18, etc.). The program then asks when a customer wants to go to the movies. The program replies with the time for the next showing. If the next showing matches the hour input by the customer, show the next showing after that. If the next showing is past the last one, the program shall output, “There are no more showings.”, Here is a sample execution: I am trying to use these programs as practice for practicing lists, strings and inputs. But am struggling a bit after laying down the foundation on each problem. I plan to put them into thonny to compare them with my own work.arrow_forwardList comprehension. Write a Python program called list_comprehension.py that contains remove_list = [1,5,7, 9]. Create a list that is initialized by a list comprehension that contains all numbers from 0-10, but none of the numbers on the remove_list. Do not use for loop. Print the contents of the list.arrow_forwardC# Gas Station Program: Write a program that allows the users to select items that are for sale in a gas station. - Grocery shopping list (linked list: inserting at the end of a list) Given main() in the ShoppingList class, define an insertAtEnd() method in the ItemNode class that adds an element to the end of a linked list. DO NOT print the dummy head node. Ex. if the input is: 4 Kale Lettuce Carrots Peanuts where 4 is the number of items to be inserted; Kale, Lettuce, Carrots, Peanuts are the names of the items to be added at the end of the list. The output is: Kale Lettuce Carrots Peanutsarrow_forwardTUPLES (the values are represented in ( ) ) Write a program which accepts a sequence of comma-separated numbers from console and generate a list and a tuple which contains every number. Suppose the following input is supplied to the program: 34, 67, 55, 33, 12, 98. Then, the output should be: ['34', '67', '55', '33', '12', '98'] ('34',67', '55', '33', '12', '98'). Here, you need to find out how you obtain the numbers input from the user. You just need to assign these numbers as a representation of list and tuple. Attach a screenshot of the code and output. Show a major difference array list and tuple through the code.arrow_forwardUsing python, please explain 1: A positive integer greater than 1 is said to be prime if it has no divisors other than 1 and itself. A positive integer greater than 1 is composite if it is not prime. Write a program that asks the user to enter an integer greater than 1, then displays all of the prime numbers that are less than or equal to the number entered The program should work as follows: Once the user has entered a number, the program should populate a list with all of the integers from 2 up through the value entered. The program should then use a loop to step through the list. The loop should pass each element to a function that displays the element whether it is a prime number.arrow_forward
- Lottery number generator: Write a program that generates aseven-digit lottery number. The program should have a loopto generate seven random numbers, each in the range 0through 9 and assign each number to a list element.2. Write another loop to display the contents of the list.3. Tip: You will need to create/initialize your list before you canassign numbers to it.4. Use program 7-1 sales_list as an example. You will start witha seven-digit lottery number that contains all zeros. Then inyour loop, you will assign a random number instead ofgetting the data from the user.Turn in your program to the practice assignment link in coursecontent.arrow_forwarddef grade_manipulation(grade_list): ''' Question You are working as a TA and the professor asks you to handle the uncleaned student grades. - First, substitute all grades that are None with a 0 - Second, reverse the order of the student grades - Third, change the type of the list to a tuple Args: grade_list (list) Returns: tuple >>> grade_manipulation([67, 95, 60, None, 100]) (100, 0, 60, 95, 67) ''" # print(grade_manipulation([67, 95, 60, None, 100])) # print('---')arrow_forwardLab Goal : This lab was designed to teach you more about list processing and algorithms.Lab Description : Write a program that will search through a list to find the smallest number and the largest number. - Python Programming: 2D list The Lo Shu Magic Square is a grid with 3 rows and 3 columns that contains the numbers 1 through 9 exactly. The sum of each row, each column, and each diagonal all add up to the same number. In a program, you can simulate a magic square using a two-dimensional list. Write a function that accepts a two-dimensional list as an argument and determines whether the list is a Lo Shu Magic Square. Test the function in a program. 4 9 2 3 5 7 8 1 6 To test the program, send in two two-dimensional lists: one is a Lo Shu Magic Square, the other is not.arrow_forward8. Assume you already have a list defined, called numbers, containing only numericvalues. Write an expression that finds the product of the largest and smallest values in thelist.
