Concept introduction:
Orthosteric drugs are the traditional drugs that bind to the site of cell receptors to which the target molecules also bind. These drugs mimic the target molecule, which can be a hormone, an enzyme, or a neurotransmitter.
Allosteric drugs are the drugs that bind to the cell receptors at a site other than the target binding site, change the conformation of it, and alter the activity of the natural ligand.
