Computer Network:

• Computer network is defined as two or more computers used to communicate with each other.
• Group of computers can share resources and information through networks.
• The important part of the modern world is the computer networks, because internet is based on computer networks only.

Type of computer networks:

There are three types of computer networks as follows:

• Local Area Network (LAN)
• Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)
• Wide Area Network (WAN)

 Difference between LAN, MAN and WAN:

 

Local Area Network (LAN)	Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)	Wide Area Network (WAN)
Within a small area, a network that is used to connect the computers is called as LAN.	Within several buildings in the same city a network that connects the computer is called as MAN.	The large geographical area must be connected via WAN.
In small areas, the LAN gives an interface between the computers and shares some of the resources.	It is a collection of numerous LANs and is executed using high backbone methods such as fiber optical cable...
