Question
Chapter 7, Problem 7.44AP
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The similarity and dissimilarity between ion-dipole attraction and an ionic attraction.
Introduction:
Attractive forces are caused by the attraction of an electron-rich area of one compound to electron poor area of another compound. Dipole-dipole attraction and ion-dipole attraction is a type of attractive forces. There are mainly five types of attractive forces: London forces, hydrogen bonding, dipole-dipole attraction, ion-dipole attraction, and ionic attraction.
