Chapter 7, Problem 81RQE
Program Plan Intro
Size declarator:
An array is a variable which stores multiple values of same types of data; the array values are stored in continuous memory locations.
Syntax of an array:
Datatype array-name [size-declarator];
Consider the following array definition:
//Declaration of array
int values[5];
In the above example, “int” represents the data type of the array, “values[]” is the array name and the number inside the brackets is the size declaratory of the array.
- This size declarator must be an integer value which represents the number of elements that the array holds with it.
- In the above example code, it is clear that the array values hold five elements with it.

C++ Lexicographical Sorting
Given a file of unsorted words with mixed case: read the entries in the file and sort those words lexicographically. The program should then prompt the user for an index, and display the word at that index. Since you must store the entire list in an array, you will need to know the length. The "List of 1000 Mixed Case Words" contains 1000 words.
You are guaranteed that the words in the array are unique, so you don't have to worry about the order of, say, "bat" and "Bat."
For example, if the array contains ten words and the contents are
cat Rat bat Mat SAT Vat Hat pat TAT eat
after sorting, the word at index 6 is Rat

- Java code Lab 3 Problem Statement Write a program that reads in ten integers and displays the number of distinct numbers and the list of distinct numbers. (Note: distinct means unique or different. So if the user enters ten 5s, there is only one distinct number, which is 5.) You may use arrays and/or ArrayLists. All ten integers should be read from the user with one prompt. The integers entered should not be limited to any particular range. You may assume that the user will enter only valid integers. You must break the problem down into these separate methods that are each called from the main method: getUserInput findDistinctNumbers outputResults No global variables are allowed. For each employee, they have to record the code, name, age, whether he/she was infected or no and the remaining days of leaves for him/her. You are requested to write the program that maintains the lists of details for the employees as mentioned above using the concept of arrays. The program repeats the display of a menu of services until the user decides to exit. 1. Start by initializing the employee details by reading them from the keyboard. 2. Repeat the display of a menu of 4 services, perform the required task according to the user’s choice and asks the user whether he/she wants to repeat or no. - Count dominators def count_dominators(items): An element of items is said to be a dominator if every element to its right (not just the one element that is immediately to its right) is strictly smaller than it. By this definition, the last item of the list is automatically a dominator. This function should count how many elements in items are dominators, and return that count. For example, dominators of [42, 7, 12, 9, 13, 5] would be the elements 42, 13 and 5. Before starting to write code for this function, you should consult the parable of "Shlemiel the painter" and think how this seemingly silly tale from a simpler time relates to today's computational problems performed on lists, strings and other sequences. This problem will be the first of many that you will encounter during and after this course to illustrate the important principle of using only one loop to achieve in a tiny fraction of time the same end result that Shlemiel achieves with two nested loops.
