Summary Introduction
Caulobacter crescentus is an oligotrophic and Gram negative bacteria. It is widely spread in fresh water streams and lakes as well. The daughter cells of Caulobacter exist in two forms. One daughter is a swarmer having a single flagellum at one pole. The other daughter cell is a stalked cell having a tubular structure. The chromosome replication and cell division process takes place only in the stalked cell stage.
