Summary Introduction

To explain: How does a cell get rids of CO2that is produced during cellular respiration?

Introduction: Diffusion is a process in which a substance moves from an area of its higher concentration to an area of its lower concentration without the expenditure of energy. The molecules move in a direction from a higher to a lower concentration gradient. For example, during a respiration process, oxygen molecule (O2) is taken up by cells. Oxygen is a non-polar molecule that can rapidly cross the lipid bilayer of the plasma membrane. The O2is in higher concentration outside the cell membrane than inside, so it favors the diffusion of O2 inside the cell.
