The receptors that respond to the taste and olfaction is known as chemoreceptors. These are known as chemoreceptors as they mainly respond to the chemicals present in the solution. There are total five different kinds of taste sensations that can be identified, however, a wide range of chemicals can be identified by the olfactory receptors present.
