Concept introduction:

The visual cliff experiment is an experiment in which a table has a “shallow” and a “deep” side, and a glass covering the entire table. When an infant crawl on the table and looks down at the deep side, the squares in the design on the floor look smaller than the square on the shallow side, forming a visible sign of depth. About 19 % of the babies crawl over the deep side of the table, while the rest were refused to crawl over the deep side.
