Chapter 9, Problem 11RQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The mechanism of weeping lubrication in the synovial joint.
Introduction:
Synovial joints are freely movable joints, surrounded by an articular capsule. They contain a cavity which is filled with a slippery fluid called synovial fluid. It provides resistance against friction during movement. It contains glycoprotein that provides a slippery consistency to the fluid.
