The ploidy of the cells refers to the presence of number of sets of chromosomes in that cell. The ploidy of the individuals, cells and tissues are described by the number of sets of chromosome present in a cell. The ploidy of cell, individual and tissue can be haploid, diploid, triploid, tetraploid and so on based on the number of sets of chromosomes.
