Chapter 9, Problem 13TYR
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Joint are articulations where the two adjacent bones link to each other or a bone with a cartilage link with each other. Synovial joints are highly movable joints in the human body. These joints show characteristic feature having a synovial cavity bounded by a synovial membrane. The cavity is filled with synovial fluid. Synovial joints are classified into six types of joints that include: (1) ball-and-socket joint, (2) hinge joint (3) condyloid joint, (4) pivot joint, (5) plane joint, and (6) saddle joints. The shape, structure and degree of movement that occurs varies with each type of synovial joint.
