Introduction:

There are some agents which can lead to misfolding of proteins. The misfolding can cause severe dysfunctions in the cells they enter. However, what makes these proteins dangerous is that, not only are they themselves misfolded, they can also lead to misfolding of proteins around them. This is the primary mechanism behind the neurodegenerative diseases caused by these proteins.
