The formation of acetylene by the reaction of calcium carbide with water is to be shown using curved arrows.

Calcium carbide is the salt of calcium of doubly negative carbide ion.
Carbide ion is strongly basic and thus abstracts protons.
The carbide ion in a molecule of calcium carbide accepts two protons from water and forms acetylene and calcium hydroxide by combining hydroxide ions from water with calcium ion.
