The basic unit of heredity through which genetic information is transferred from parents to progeny is called as gene and it is located on chromosome. The development of one or more traits are controlled by the genes. On the chromosome every genes occupies a certain position because it gives the information for producing proteins. These protein molecules play important roles in structure and function of the cell present in the body.
