Option:

An option represents a right, to trade some quantity of a particular underlying, either you may buy it or sell it. The option is valid for a specific period of time and calls for a specified buy or sell price are termed as option.

If an option allows buying a functional stock or share, it is said to be a call option.

If an option allows selling a functional stock or share, it is said to be a put option.

Future contract:

A futures contract is generally an agreement of an asset for either buying or selling on an exchange that is publicly-traded.
